Transport and terms of delivery

Delivery terms and conditions 

Items are delivered to the customer's delivery address. At Polhus, we always offer free shipping to UK mainland on orders over 399 GBP - this does not include Northern Ireland & Any Other Off Shore Locations. For deliveries, using TMF (truck mounted forklift) to the following postcodes in Scotland, AB, DD, EH, FK, G, IV, KA, KY, PA, ML, PH, DG, we charge an additional 250 GBP.

Considerations Before Delivery

It is the customer’s responsibility and obligation to ensure that the access road to your delivery address permits heavy traffic. The lorry delivering your order can weigh up to 44 tons. You, as the customer, are responsible for obtaining the necessary permission from the road association and ensuring that the road’s accessibility and load-bearing capacity allow the transport required for the delivery. Free shipping does not include Northern Ireland or any other offshore locations.

Delivery with truck fitted with tail lift:

Products delivered with a tail lift cannot be unloaded on unpaved or uneven driveways or roads, such as gravel roads, forest roads or inclined driveways due to the size and weight of our products. Unloading will be executed with the help of a pallet jack.

Delivery with truck mounted forklift (TMF):

Products requiring delivery with a truck mounted forklift will be unloaded at your address, and delivered goods will be placed on the ground in the direct vicinity of the delivery vehicle (requiring a flat and hard surface for unloading). The lorry driver will assess the unloading safety and accessibility on site. For deliveries to the following postal codes in Scotland we charge and extra fee of 250 GBP: AB, DD, EH, FK, G, IV, KA, KY, PA, ML, PH, DG. 

Our lorries drive as close to your delivery address as possible; we do not offer indoor delivery. The driver assesses where the goods can be delivered. 

Polhus determines whether your order requires a TMF truck or a tail lift truck. This information can also be found under the product specifications on the website.

Delivery to islands

For delivery to islands without a permanent road connection, an additional freight cost will be added. If you wish to know the cost before placing your order, please contact our customer service.

Unreceived Goods

If you are unavailable at the time of unloading and/or the road or delivery location is not accessible, you will be charged for the costs incurred for a failed delivery attempt. This means costs incurred by Polhus in connection with the delivery and the fully or partial return of your order. Please note that these costs can be substantial, up to 1000 GBP. If you want us to deliver the product again, we reserve the right to charge the actual costs even if the first delivery was free.

Polhus reserves the right to deliver your order to a suitable nearby location if delivery cannot occur at the confirmed delivery location. Examples of such situations include:

- You provided the wrong delivery address. 

- The address is not accessible. 

- The address cannot be reached safely. 

- The truck cannot reach the location due to road conditions.

Warranty

Before you sign for your delivery, check for any visible defects or damages. If such defects or damages are present, you need to take pictures from different angles and notify us within two weeks after delivery. As a customer, you do not need to contact the delivery company; Polhus will handle this.
