What does Polhus do? 

Polhus Aktiebolag ("Polhus") is a company registered in Sweden at registered address Djäknegatan 31, 211 35 Malmö (organisation number 556624-0296). We design and sell wooden houses (such as garden houses, saunas, garden rooms, playhouses and much more). Our headquarters are located in Sweden and our group companies are located in the EU, Norway, Switzerland and the UK.

What personal information does Polhus collect and why? 

The information that we process about you depends on what you choose to do when visiting our website and/or purchasing our products.

Information we automatically collect: When you visit our website, we collect certain information automatically from your device. To administer and protect our business and website (including troubleshooting, data analysis, testing, system maintenance, support, reporting and hosting of data).

Information that we obtain from third party sources: From time to time, we receive personal information about you from third party sources as set out below, but only where we have checked that these third parties either have your consent or are otherwise legally permitted or required to disclose your personal information to us.   

To facilitate payment through payment services providers that offer credit to our customers (such as Klarna)

Polhus does not collect or process any sensitive personal information (also referred to as 'special category' data) about you.  

If we ask you to provide personal information to comply with a legal requirement or to perform a contract with you, we will set out at the relevant time what minimum information must be provided and the consequences if you do not provide it.

Who does Polhus share your personal information with? 

We share your personal information with the following categories of recipients: 

  • Our group companies who provide data processing services to us (for example, to support the delivery of, provide functionality on, or help to enhance the security of our website), or who otherwise process personal information for purposes that are described in this Privacy Notice. Our group companies, to which we transfer contact details and order information, operate in the same industry as us and are based in the EU, Norway, Switzerland and the UK.  
  • Third party services providers and partners who provide data processing services to us (for example, to support the delivery of, provide functionality on, or help to enhance the security of our website), or who otherwise process personal information for purposes that are described in this Privacy Notice. We work with the following types of third party service providers: (i) companies that will deliver the products you have ordered to you directly; (ii) payment service providers, including those that offer credit, so that they can process your payment; (iii) assembly service providers where you have ordered assembly services; (iv) cloud storage and hosting providers; (v) IT service providers who have access to our platform; and (vi) external partners dealing with building permits, where relevant.

How does Polhus keep my personal information secure? 

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect the personal information that we collect and process about you.  The measures we use are designed to provide a level of security appropriate to the risk of processing your personal information.   

International data transfers 

In some cases, your personal information is transferred to, and processed in, countries other than the country in which you are resident.  These countries may have data protection laws that are different to the laws of your country.  

Specifically, our website servers are located in the EU, and our group companies and third party service providers and partners operate around the world.  This means that when we collect your personal information we will process it in any of these countries.

Data retention
