Effective ventilation in the sauna is crucial for distributing heat evenly and creating a more enjoyable sauna experience.
Ventilation is crucial in a sauna. Air must circulate in the sauna for the heat to spread. Additionally, oxygen is needed for the sauna to feel comfortable when using the sauna and especially for wood-burning stoves to function effectively.
In Polhus saunas, there is a solution for intake air through the gaps between the floorboards. We recommend also installing an exhaust vent. The exhaust vent should be adjustable internally and should be mounted approximately 200 mm from the ceiling on the opposite side of the sauna heater.
Even if you get intake air through the gaps in the floor, it's a good idea to install an intake vent low on the wall near the sauna heater. This is to spread the heat from the heater more effectively and to provide more oxygen for a wood-burning heater. This vent should also be adjustable to regulate airflow. If you wish to install both intake and exhaust vents, simply order two sauna ventilation kits.
Please note that you will need to prepare ventilation holes yourself, as the placement of the vents may vary depending on the sauna's location and where it is aesthetically most suitable to place them.
